Stromboli

Such an easy recipe and doesn’t require tons of ingredients.  You can make these in the morning and pop them in the oven when you get home from work.  It’s that simple.

Ingredients:

* pizza dough or puff pastry (I have used both.  I’m up in the air with this one. The pizza dough can be doughy and when you roll it up, it ends up being a lot.  The puff pastry is definitely thinner, but you end up with a pastry like stromboli.  It’s up to you.)

* salami

* ham

* pepperoni

* mozzarella cheese

* pizza sauce (I have also used my own spaghetti sauce in a pinch)

* whatever other ingredient you want to add

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a cookie sheet.  Roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle.  Layer your meat and top with mozzarella cheese. (I have added the sauce right on top of the ingredients and then rolled it up and I have tried it without and just dipped it into sauce.  Either way is fine.)  Fold one side of the dough to the middle.  Fold the sides up.  Then fold the last side over the entire stromboli.  Put the stromboli seam side down on the cookie sheet.  Bake for 45 minutes.
